The Allegory of Minos in Dante’s Inferno Woven Blanket

$44,03

In this woven blanket, The Noha Studio transforms Gustave Doré’s haunting vision of Dante’s Inferno into a striking piece of living art. The scene, drawn from Plate 13 of Doré’s masterful engravings, depicts Minos—the mythic judge of the underworld—coiling his serpentine tail as he condemns souls to their fates. Doré’s intricate linework, originally etched in stark black and white, is here reimagined in soft woven textures, allowing the drama of Dante’s vision to unfold in tactile form.

The weight of classical mythology and medieval imagination is balanced by the intimacy of the textile. What was once a terrifying portal into the afterlife becomes a contemplative object for the present—at once powerful, solemn, and unexpectedly comforting. Draped across a sofa or worn as a cloak of art, this blanket turns the act of storytelling into something both visual and physical, fusing the grandeur of literature with the warmth of everyday ritual.
