Hypnose

Sascha Schneider’s Hypnose (1904) is a vision of raw intensity—a confrontation between vulnerability and overpowering force. The painting depicts a figure transfixed, held in the thrall of another’s magnetic command, a study in both strength and surrender. Schneider, known for his symbolist explorations of power, masculinity, and the unseen forces of the psyche, renders the scene with a theatrical sense of light and shadow, almost sculptural in its clarity.
Reimagined as a kimono robe by The Noha Studio, Hypnose is transformed from canvas to garment, inviting the wearer to inhabit its charged atmosphere. Draped in flowing fabric, the artwork moves with the body, making the tension and energy of Schneider’s vision something intimate and wearable. It becomes less a static tableau and more a living gesture—an artwork in motion.

This piece is not simply attire, but an embrace of Symbolist drama, a way to carry the dialogue between power and vulnerability into daily life, woven into form and fabric.
